2014 February - Voluntary Teachers from England

For a month the school was lucky enough to have two teachers from England. Ian and his wife, Jane, arrived by vehicle and left a month later on foot, walking the 70 miles to Gonder. While working at the school, they camped in an adjacent field. Before flying out from England, they sent £1,000 that they had raised for Empress Mentewab School. They also brought many books, puzzles and games with them.

"The children were extremely lucky to have two such qualified and experienced teachers to teach them," said Kate. "We hope Ian and Jane will return again in the future!"
